Dr. Sreekanth Shetty is the Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Cardiology at Sakra World Hospital, Bengaluru — one of the city’s most respected quaternary care institutions. With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Shetty has established himself as a leading voice in interventional cardiology in India.
Trained at some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the country, including Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, and Sir JJ Hospital and Grant Medical College, Dr. Shetty brings a rare combination of academic rigour and hands-on clinical mastery to his practice.
He was the first cardiologist in Karnataka to introduce Intravascular Shock Wave Lithotripsy (IVL), a groundbreaking technique for treating severely calcified coronary arteries — a testament to his commitment to staying at the forefront of cardiac innovation.
